Yesterday, I accompanied my cousin around KLCC area to look for anime manga stores per her siblings’ requests and sightseeing. While I’m one of what folks would consider as “a homebody”, the fact that I am one is precisely why I actually enjoy accompanying my friends/family whenever they want to do sightseeing in KL. I learned a lot about new trends, places, and interesting food from them, hahah. I rarely go out, and when I do, seeing new things helps me reenergize myself. Even on places I frequently visited, I ended up noticed new things, thanks to them!

Our first stop was Ombak KLCC mall, a brand-new mall next to Suria KLCC. The mall houses Galeri Petronas, previously located at Suria KLCC, and it has direct access from the MRT station Persiaran KLCC. We visited the Nintendo Pop-Up Store, and I got so chuffed seeing so many Animal Crossing: New Horizons merchs! They even have the The Roost-labeled coffee cup and saucer set and DAL mug!

They also have ACNH saucepan!

The store reminds me of Japan so much. A lot of plushies and merchandises from Nintendo’s games which gives you that huge impulse to spend money.

We then went to Kinokuniya Suria KLCC. The bookstore is having an ongoing renovation and they are doing it per area instead of the whole store, so while we are still able to shop in the store, the space is quite tight. That said, I found The Family of Fourteen series in the Japanese section! I grew up with this series, so imagine my excitement seeing them!

This is what I meant by discovering new things from familiar places, hahah. Had my cousin not doing the beeline to the store’s Japanese section, I won’t be able to found the series from my childhood!

I also love this artist corner. It seemed like the manga-ka for the manga “Veil” visited Malaysia and had her signing session.

Unfortunately, my phone’s battery dropped quite significantly halfway through our trip (6 years old iPhone with replaced battery, hahah!) so I didn’t take a lot of pics on the anime manga stores. We went to Lalaport Bukit Bintang City Centre, and I was so impressed seeing how they dedicated the second floor as Lalaport ACG (Anime Comics Game) Base with almost all stores are all about anime, comics, and games.

Fortunately, our visit yesterday was when Lalaport ACG Base’s Creator Market opened too! I MET JOO ING FROM JOO ING ART AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

I love her so much oh my gosh I don’t know where to start. I first found her works from Kinokuniya Suria KLCC’s local artists area, and I have been getting her stickers and card holders ever since! When I saw her kiosk at Lalaport ACG Base’s Creator Market, I had to do a double take. It was in the afternoon and the place was quite crowded, but the artists were still doing their best showing their works. I don’t think I would ever forgot how happy one of them was, when my cousin bought stickers from her, and she was all smiling and giddy. Aaaa, my heartttt.

We also went to MyTown mall and visited Akihabara Station store. The store is not super huge, but they have really nice selection of anime manga merch, even those who are quite difficult to get. My cousin hunted for “Twisted Wonderland” merch, and she told me that this series is not available in Indonesia. We did find it at “Akihabara Station”, though, and the store even has it on a dedicated space!

I really hope the Indonesian forest fires and the haze would go away soon. I, and alongside many people out there, would like to have our outdoor walk and sightseeing activities again.
